Meredith York Vincent and Emily Jane Whobrey Armes Vincent lived in a home on Little Mountain Road in Edmonson County, Kentucky, near the Bee Spring community. At this time, I am uncertain when they moved into this house. The introductory page of M.Y.'s Family Record Book says "Mr. and Mrs. M Y Vincent, Cedar Grove, Ky." This could mean that M.Y. and Emmy lived in the Cedar Grove community before moving to the Little Mountain Road house. For that matter, the reference to "Mr. and Mrs. M Y Vincent" very well could have been a reference to Martha Ellen Vanmeter Vincent, M.Y.'s first wife. Given the copyright date of the Family Record Book (1902) and the date of M.Y. and Emmy's marriage (1904), I would presume that the "Mrs. M Y Vincent" is a reference to Emmy. If that's the case, then I would also presume that M.Y. and Emmy lived in Cedar Grove for some time and then moved to Little Mountain Road. According to Elasta Jane Vincent Kinser, M.Y. and Emmy's baby daughter, M.Y. passed away at the Little Mountain Road home in 1944. What I do not yet know is whether Emmy continued to live there after M.Y's death and, if she did, for how long. I understand from Dorothy Lillian Hazelip Nash and Elasta Jane that Emmy moved from place to place in her older years, eventually passing away at [____________]'s home in 1957. Based on what I understand now, the following people were born in the Little Mountain Road home: Bonnie Lillian Vincent Hazelip (1905 - 1991) Dona Vincent Sanders (1908 - 1936) Mildred Vincent Carnes (1909 - 1989) Elasta Jane Vincent Kinser (1912 - living) The next step in this part of the story is to visit the Edmonson County land records to see if I can trace M.Y. or Emmy's ownership of real estate. That might fill in some of these blanks.
